Welcome to our Land Code website
Mitaanjigamiing First Nation is a signatory to the Framework Agreement on First Nation Land Management.
The Mitaanjigamiing Land Code was passed by our membership on June 1, 2026, through which our First Nation has regained governance over our lands, natural resources, and environment.
Our Land Code replaces the 44 land management sections of the Indian Act that previously controlled our lands.

We have developed this website to help communicate the benefits and considerations of establishing our own Land Law (Land Code), provide information on the lands it will apply to, explain the Mitaanjigamiing Community Ratification (Voting) Process, and help answer any questions that our members may have on the proposed Mitaanjigamiing Land Code.
