Mitaanjigamiing
First Nation Land Code

Welcome to our Land Code Development website

Mitaanjigamiing First Nation is a signatory to the Framework Agreement on First Nation Land Management and is developing a Land Code (Land Law) to replace Indian Act control over our lands.

Once approved by the Mitaanjigamiing voting membership (on and off-reserve), our Land Code will enable our First Nation to regain governance over our lands, natural resources, and environment. Our Land Code will replace the 44 land management sections of the Indian Act that currently control our lands.
